DAVID T. PFUND, PARTNER
David T. Pfund is the firm’s founding and managing partner where his litigation practice includes the handling of matters involving Title 59 Claims against Governmental entities, personal injury, professional liability, employment law, automobile negligence, products liability, land use, municipal law, constitutional law and premises liability. Mr. Pfund has over 20 years experience practicing law. His experience includes all aspect of litigation, including motion practice, trial and appellate work. He also has served as an arbitrator on numerous matters.
Prior to founding Pfund McDonnell, PC in 2010, Mr. Pfund was managing partner of the firm Reiseman, Rosenberg & Pfund, as well as a partner with the firm of Harwood Lloyd. David’s extensive trial experience and diverse litigation practice uniquely qualifies him to advise and handle all types of serious and complex litigation.
In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Pfund has extensive civic experience. In 2002, he was elected as a Councilman for the Village of Ridgewood in and served as Mayor of the Village of Ridgewood from 2004-2010 (choosing not to run again for re-election in order to concentration more fully on his law practice). Mr. Pfund was a member of the Village of Ridgewood Board of Adjustment (Vice-Chairman) from 1999-2002 and he served as a member of the Ridgewood Public Library's Board of Trustees and Sports Council Committee from 2004-2008. He currently serves on the Board of the Ridgewood YMCA and the Board of Ridgewood Junior Football.
Mr. Pfund was a member of the Justice Morris Pashmann American Inn of Court and is presently a member of the New York Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, New Jersey Bar Association, Bergen and Passaic County Bar Associations and New Jersey Planning and Officials.
He has lectured to police personnel through the Police Chief's Association and has lectured at the League of Municipalities on topics which include Title 59 claims against municipalities.
Mr. Pfund is licensed to practice in all New Jersey Courts, all New York Courts, and the United States District Court, district of New Jersey, United States District Court, Southern District of New York, United States District Court, Eastern District of New York and Northern District of New York. He served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Naomi G. Eichen, J.S.C. from 1991-1992.
Mr Pfund is a 1988 graduate of Muhlenberg College where he received his B.A. majoring in Economics and Philosophy. He graduated from New York Law School in 1991.
